This session will help participants…

  1. design and implement classroom management strategies that are effective and culturally responsive to improve student behavior and improve the learning environment.
  2. facilitate effective communication and collaboration among families, teachers, community providers of diverse students.
  3. address individual differences, strengths, backgrounds, and needs in the design, implementation, and evaluation of all services while being an advocate for fairness and social justice in school policies and programs.
  4. present and advocate the use of the NASP Practice Model to the schools they serve, in an attempt to develop and implement behavior change programs at individual, group, classroom, and school-wide levels.

One of the many roles of a school psychologist practitioner involves coaching teachers to properly implement effective and culturally responsive interventions, as well as strategies to manage classroom behavior, thereby creating an environment that is most conducive to teaching and learning. Participants in this mini-skills workshop will receive training and skill development that can be used to coach, encourage, and implement culturally responsive and effective classroom management strategies within the classroom.

Convention session locations are only viewable for convention attendees. Locations will be available/visible Monday, February, 25 2019.
