Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. better understand the pressing issues that suggest the need to better support teachers in their development of skills relevant to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  2. become familiar with ways in which the field of school psychology has addressed professional learning and consultation with teachers relevant to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom.
  3. engage in dialogue with other practitioners regarding their own experiences with promoting instructional skills to support diverse learners, unmet needs for professional learning, and future directions related to diversity, equity, and inclusion within schools.

Description

The present dialogue is centered on the need for, research to support, and recommendations to improve school psychologists’ promotion of more egalitarian instructional practices to better support increasingly diverse learners.
