  1. explain the importance of teaching and assessing vocabulary in early childhood;
  2. implement evidence-based practices in early vocabulary assessment and intervention within an MTSS framework;
  3. apply best practices for teaching and assessing vocabulary with emergent bilingual students; and
  4. disseminate practical and evidence-based vocabulary assessment and intervention practices to teachers and interventionists.

Description

Early vocabulary assessment and instruction is essential to academic success, especially for emergent bilingual students. We review best practices in early vocabulary assessment and intervention with examples to support implementation.
