Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. increase an understanding of academic skills deficits and the application of evidence-based practice to address the academic deficit within a real world functional setting;
  2. expand understanding of the evidence-based practice of behavioral skills training within an academic framework;
  3. obtain valuable knowledge in the shaping of self-regulation problem solving skills for individuals with disabilities; and
  4. gain an understanding of combining reading and math intervention into a functional intervention.

Description

Introductory level presentation that provides individuals with a functional academic intervention that incorporates applicable life skills into the class setting, therefore increasing independence and well-being for adolescents with disabilities.
