This session will help participants…

  1. advocate for Black youth placed in kinship care to ensure they receive the adequate resources (social, mental, and financial) while in care;
  2. apply the results of this study and how it can further help school psychologists provide better services to youth in kinship care; and
  3. describe how the presence of an emotional disturbance can further contribute to placement instability that these youth may experience.

The importance of supporting Black youth placed in kinship care and providing the adequate resources for non-licensed kinship care providers as they take care of these youth while in care.
