This session will help participants…
- bolster their communication and collaboration skills when interviewing and communicating with caregivers by providing relevant questions and report recommendations;
- learn culturally responsive practices and recommendations to support children with autism and their families navigate the transition process to formalized schooling; and
- understand the current areas for growth in supporting socioeconomically, culturally, or linguistically diverse children with autism and their families during the transition to formalized schooling.
Description
Learn about ways to support children with autism and their families when they enter kindergarten. Data highlighting the experiences of caregivers and culturally responsive and research-based recommendations will be discussed.
