Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. increase their knowledge regarding the need for culturally responsive SEL interventions by examining current research and practices to promote equitable practices for diverse student populations as outlined in NASP Domains 8 and 9;
  2. increase their knowledge on culturally adapting SEL interventions for Black and LGBTQ youth to promote safe and supportive schools as outlined in NASP Domain 6; and
  3. increase their efficacy to implement cultural adaptations for Black and LGBTQ youth to promote ethical and equitable professional practice as outlined in NASP Domain 10.

Description

Learn about current trends in culturally responsive social–emotional learning interventions and how to adapt them to better serve minoritized groups such as Black and LGBTQ youth in schools.
