  • PMD: 1,9
  • Cost: Included in Registration
  • Skill Level: Intermediate

Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. make theory-based and research-informed decisions regarding cognitive/achievement assessment data;
  2. identify how reading, math, and writing achievement domains are influenced by cognitive ability; and
  3. understand how the relations between intelligence and various achievement domains vary by cognitive ability level.

Description

Is intelligence more predictive of achievement outcomes for lower-ability students? Evidence suggests that cognitive-achievement relations are not as static as traditionally believed. Implications for practice will be discussed.
