This session will help participants…

  1. recognize the functional impact of selective mutism within the school setting;
  2. identify at least one Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions useful for supporting a child with selective mutism in school; and
  3. identify at least one progress monitoring tool useful for monitoring speaking progress for children with selective mutism.

Description

Selective mutism (SM) has functional impacts on children in schools. This presentation will examine ways to incorporate evidence-based SM intervention into an MTSS model focusing on tiered support and progress monitoring.
