Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. understand the prevalence of disability stigma, ableism, and ableist microaggressions in schools among students with disabilities;
  2. gain knowledge on how current high school students with disabilities are being impacted by disability stigma and ableist microaggressions; and
  3. acquire strategies to help students with disabilities feel safer and more supported by recognizing and responding to instances of ableism in schools.
