Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. effectively apply core principles and concepts of cultural humility to their professional practice, enabling them to engage with diverse populations more effectively and respectfully;
  2. articulate the crucial need for competency when providing care and support to LGBTQ children and families; and
  3. effectively analyze and discuss the psychometric properties and practical applications of two emerging tools in the field, the LGBT-DOCSS (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Discrimination in Clinical Settings Scale) and the MCHC (Multicultural Counseling and Human Developmental Competencies).
