Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. reflect on their affirming and discriminatory experiences within their graduate training program and practicum placements related to their SGM identities.
  2. connect with other graduate students with shared identities to develop a community network.
  3. learn strategies for problem-solving when exposed to experiences that invalidate or marginalize their SGM identities.

Description

Sexual and gender minority (SGM) graduate students lack opportunities to discuss their affirming and discriminatory experiences during their training. This graduate student led conversation seeks to cultivate such a space.
