Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. describe the need for culturally responsive mental health practices with LGBTQ+ youth;
  2. identify the current research base on school mental health practitioner's cultural responsiveness with LGBTQ+ youth; and
  3. reflect on and identify actions that are related to increased cultural responsiveness with LGBTQ+ youth.

Description

Culturally responsive mental health practices are necessary to effectively support LGBTQ+ youth. Participants will learn how confidence and intergroup contact relate to cultural responsiveness to inform their practice.
