PO727: Helping Teachers Generalize Effective Classroom Practices Through Consultation: A Meta-Analysis

  • PMD: 2
  • Cost: Included in Registration
  • Skill Level: Intermediate
  • Poster Session 7: Consultation and Collaboration With Educators and Parents

Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. bridge the “research-to-practice” gap in the consultation literature by learning direct implications for school-based consultation in day-to-day practice;
  2. clearly understand future research needs with implications for using certain practices with cautious optimism; and
  3. describe the school-based consultation literature that examines educators’ generalized outcomes.

Description

Consultation is effective for improving teachers' practices. But do teachers generalize what they learn through consultation? Results of a meta-analysis will answer this, with practical and research implications described.
