This session will help participants…
- gain fluency in basic relevant legal terminology necessary to participate in discussions of school law issues with supervisors, school counsel, parents, and members of the community;
- gain knowledge of the legal responsibilities of educators regarding the rights of all students and apply that knowledge to practical scenarios; and
- describe how legal practice fits into a comprehensive role as outlined by the NASP Practice Model.
Description
Legal issues surrounding rights of transgender students, discipline, English learners, and racial inequities based on redlining will be presented. Increase knowledge of student rights and learn to apply legal principles.
