Friday, February 16, 2024
2:00 PM–3:50 PM CST

  • PMD: 3,8
  • Cost: Included in Registration
  • Skill Level: Introduction

Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. understand best practices in curriculum, instruction, and intervention for those with intellectual disability (ID);
  2. identify barriers to academic intervention implementation for students with ID; and
  3. practice adapting an academic intervention using an adaptation guide: GAINS-ID.

Description

Students with intellectual disabilities (ID) could benefit from targeted intervention; however, few ID-specific interventions exist. Practice applying an adaptation guide, grounded in Universal Design for Learning, to an intervention.
