Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. explain and implement equitable strategies for Tier 1 implementation to better support culturally diverse youth, in concordance with the NASP Practice Model;
  2. assess and critically evaluate their schools’ current approaches to culturally responsive MTSS compared to student, educator, and family perspectives; and
  3. identify and describe current initiatives for socially just MTSS and their varied efficacy in a large, urban school district.

Description

This project analyzes qualitative interview data to discern student, staff, and caregivers perceptions about systems-level, equitable multitiered systems of support (MTSS) practices in a large urban district.
