Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. identify the implications of the study findings for school psychologists and educators, and how to best support the implementation of evidence-based SEL curricula;
  2. analyze factors impacting the implementation and outcomes of an elementary SEL/suicide prevention program implemented during COVID-19; and
  3. understand strategies for overcoming challenges to achieve the intended benefits of SEL programming based on findings from this pilot evaluation.

Description

The session presents the evaluation of "Sources of Strength - Elementary," an upstream suicide prevention program. Significant associations were found between program exposure and enhanced resilience, well-being, and social–emotional outcomes.
