PA359: Understanding Screener Accuracy Changes Following Learning Disruptions: A Bayesian Approach

Friday, February 16, 2024
3:00 PM–3:50 PM CST

  • PMD: 1,9
  • Cost: Included in Registration
  • Skill Level: Advanced
  • Poster Session 2: Assessment and Intervention in an RTI Framework

Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. learn how unexpected educational disruptions such as COVID-19 affect student achievement and the implications of this for universal screening;
  2. understand the practical implications of applying Bayesian updating to academic screeners when unexpected educational disruptions occur; and
  3. learn how Bayesian updating can be used to understand screener prediction accuracy.

Description

Presenters will discuss how educational disruptions such as COVID-19 affected screening prediction accuracy. Attendees will learn about Bayesian methods to understand changes in screener accuracy following prolonged school closures.
