This session will help participants…

  1. examine the challenges first-generation Latinx college students and their families experience in college;
  2. understand the academic and psychological supports first-generation Latinx college students need in postsecondary settings; and
  3. gain insight into how parental support affects college adjustment for first-generation Latinx students.

Description

First-generation Latinx college students face distinct challenges. Insights from students and caregivers will be examined and detailed to inform support services, promoting success for this vulnerable population.
