Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. understand the benefits of interdependent group oriented contingencies (IGOCs) with randomized components and how they can create kinder more cooperative classrooms;
  2. understand how to use the IGOC structure to support peer relationships, social skill lessons, and peer assisted learning; and
  3. implement IGOCs to incentivize work completion and accuracy, and improve application of positive social skills. (A step-by-step guide and several practitioner friendly articles outlining the process and research base will be included.)

We will describe how to implement interdependent group oriented contingencies in classrooms to increase cooperation and motivate students to do their best work.
