This session will help participants…

  1. understand the definition of compassionate care as it relates to actionable behaviors;
  2. review typical challenges in engaging in compassionate care for new practitioners including schools psychologists and BCBAs; and
  3. understand a framework for teaching compassionate care skills when working with autistic individuals, family members, and other colleagues.

How can compassion become actionable? This session explores how operationalizing compassion supports the development of an actionable, ethical, and culturally responsive framework for communication and collaboration with clients, caregivers, and colleagues.
