This session will help participants…

  1. briefly review a strengths-based assessment approach;
  2. apply a strengths-based approach to assessment within a RIOT/ICEL framework;
  3. relate a strengths-based approach to a selection of assessment tools/strategies shared by the presenters;
  4. apply session concepts to sample data sets in small groups; and
  5. practice oral reporting of assessment data using a strengths-based approach.

Description

A strengths-based approach to assessment improves equity and outcomes for students. Experienced practitioners will obtain tools for completing strengths-based assessment, data/assessment summaries, and oral reporting of results.
