Friday, February 16, 2024
9:00 AM–9:50 AM CST

  • PMD: 1,9
  • Cost: Included in Registration
  • Skill Level: Advanced

Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. understand the challenges and needs reported by school psychologists who evaluate students with intellectual disability;
  2. appraise current gaps in school psychology scholarship related to assessment; and
  3. articulate opportunities for graduate trainers and school psychology researchers to better evaluate and respond to gaps between practice and research.

Description

Research on assessment with students with intellectual disabilities may not reflect real-life practice. Come learn about assessment challenges described by practitioners and brainstorm ways to alleviate this practice-to-research gap.
