This session will help participants…

  1. reframe learner mindset as an action oriented practice framework;
  2. reflect on how graduate school orientation activities can encourage self-direction, self-determination, and self-efficacy in graduate students; and
  3. critically evaluate alignment of successful graduate student predictive traits with professional identity development and orientation activities.

Description

Doctoral students have an attrition rate over 40%. Equipping students with traits predictive of success can improve the school psychology pipeline. Review strategies for implementing learner mindset interventions during orientation.
