Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. expand their knowledge on existing language proficiency in Spanish, and how it can be advantageously used to promote learning to read in English;
  2. advocate for more inclusive practices that provide a more equitable access to the education for every student; and
  3. understand a student’s primary language development will support the implementation of targeted interventions as students learn how to read in their second language.

Description

The intention of this poster presentation is to expand the knowledge on existing language proficiency in Spanish, and how it can be advantageously used to promote reading instruction in English.
