Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. develop a deeper understanding regarding multicultural competence in school psychology and its impact on promoting equitable educational outcomes for students from diverse ethnic backgrounds;
  2. examine the research findings on differences in multicultural competence among school psychologists across ethnicities and gain insights into the factors contributing to these variations; and
  3. acquire knowledge for enhancing participants’ own multicultural competence as outlined by the NASP practice model, including creating culturally responsive physical environments, utilizing inclusive materials and resources, and fostering effective communication methods that align with the values and attitudes of diverse student populations.

Description

This research studies differences in multicultural competence among school psychologists across ethnicities and helps participants to gain insights into the factors contributing to these variations.
