This session will help participants…
- understand the barriers to mental health service delivery faced by rural school-based practitioners;
- realize the potential of virtual peer-coaching to support school-based mental health providers in their self-efficacy and delivery of individual counseling services in rural schools; and
- explore results from a randomized control trial which utilized peer coaching as an intervention for school-based mental health practitioners as they implemented individual counseling over an 8-week period.
Description
This presentation will showcase a study that examined the effectiveness of peer coaching on rural school-based mental health provider self-efficacy and student well-being. Implications for rural schools will be discussed.
