Learner Objectives
This session will help participants…
- learn about the effect three specific school shootings had on parents around the country;
- learn how these school shootings affected different groups of students and parents in complex ways (e.g., different demographics); and
- understand how parents felt about their child’s safety before three major school shootings and how they felt after.
Description
How did parents’ feelings about children’s safety in school change after three school shootings in 2018? Not only did feelings decrease, but parents who lived closer felt the least safe.
