Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. learn about the context and rationale for development of the Scales of Emotional Functioning: Preschool and Kindergarten (SEF:PAK), a newly developed measure of emotional intelligence in young children;
  2. learn about the psychometric integrity of the Scales of Emotional Functioning (SEF:PAK) for teachers; and
  3. learn how the operationalization of EI in young children can inform targeted skill building.

Description

Students’ emotional functioning and social skills are increasingly important in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn about a new tool developed to measure EI in preschool and kindergarten classrooms.
