This session will help participants…

  1. understand how culturally sustaining practices are defined across the literature;
  2. understand teachers' familiarity with and exposure to culturally sustaining practices; and
  3. gain insight into teachers experience of individual, classroom, and organizational facilitators and barriers to using these practices.

Description

This study will identify principle-driven common elements that align with culturally sustaining practices (Alim et al., 2020; Paris, 2012) and assess teachers’ familiarity, exposure, and beliefs regarding these practices.
