Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. identify etiology and presentation of ADHD well enough to speak effectively and succinctly about it to teachers;
  2. describe the unique way attention works in an ADHD brain and be able to express this concept effectively to teachers;
  3. describe how executive functions are impacted in a person with ADHD and be able to express this concept effectively to teachers;
  4. list the unique ways emotion is impacted by ADHD and how it shows up in the classroom and be able to express this concept effectively to teachers; and
  5. describe effective classroom strategies that can be taught to teachers to help students with ADHD manage attention, executive functions, and emotion.
