  1. identify which questions to ask a student with selective mutism and when to change speaking demands;
  2. explain how key workers can support children’s success in the classroom with regards to Practice Model Domain 4; and
  3. describe what interventions and supports can be implemented for children with SM within a Section 504 Plan/IEP.

Description

School psychologists can make a meaningful impact by promoting speech for students with selective mutism. Learn how to conduct fade-ins, ask speech-facilitating questions, and support caregivers in school settings.
