Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. understand the impact of targeted summer day camp interventions on student reading skills, specifically in relation to mitigating summer academic loss;
  2. learn about the use of Dynamic Indicators of Basic Literacy Skill (DIBELS) probes for benchmarking and the subsequent tier-based grouping and targeted support; and
  3. gain knowledge help participants identify the common instructional skill deficits in students who are not performing at grade level for oral reading fluency.
