Learner Objectives
This session will help participants…
- inform school psychologists of the contributing factors and prevalence of suicide in youth in the foster care system;
- familiarize school psychologists with commonly used assessment tools, as well as suicide intervention and preventions programs;
- highlight public policies that support the prevention of suicide in youth in foster care; and
- provide strategies to advocate for public policy that supports youth in suicide prevention.
Description
We will inform school psychologists of the prevalence of suicide in youth in the foster care system, intervention and prevention programs, and advocate for public policy that supports suicide prevention.
