Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. recognize the characteristics of an effectively designed assessment report and self-evaluate current report writing practices;
  2. review best practices and the legal and ethical mandates that guide assessment and report writing and how to illustrate that these mandates were met within the report;
  3. revise report writing methods by practicing the core features of a referral-driven evaluation, including how to integrate and synthesize data from multiple sources into cohesive assessment themes; and
  4. demonstrate diversity and multicultural competence by modifying report writing practices to reflect the individual differences, strengths, backgrounds, and needs of report consumers.

Is report writing a tedious task? Are you in a writing rut? Using research and experience-based report writing best practices, participants will learn strategies to increase the efficiency, usefulness, accessibility, and legality of their reports.
