Description

Youth often experience environmental stressors, leading to negative long-term outcomes. Tools to improve resilience are paramount. Yoga has emerged as a contemplative intervention to enhance resilience, yet research replicating such results in school settings is limited. This quasi-experimental research investigated a 15-session yoga intervention, Kripalu Yoga in the Schools, over 7 weeks among an ethnically diverse at-risk student population. Results indicated that yoga increased resilience over time, which may have buffered against the effects of stress.
