* Alfred’s School Psychology program was one of the first in the country. For more than 70 years, Alfred has prepared professional school psychologists for practice in schools and related child and family settings. The program's hallmark is practica placement for every student in area schools or campus clinic every semester. The specialist program is accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and the doctoral program is accredited in school psychology by the American Psychological Association. The PsyD program, established in 1993, follows a practitioner-scientist model to train psychologists in school, applied research settings, administration, supervision, hospitals, mental health agencies, education, and private practice.
