This session will review the literature regarding gender identity in the ASD population. The presenter will discuss possible reasons for gender diversity and gender questioning in this population, as well as implications for management.

 

Learner Objectives:

This session will help participants:

  1. Recognize the current statistics about gender diversity in persons with autism spectrum disorders.
  2. Identify factors contributing to gender diversity among persons with autism.
  3. Discuss the implications of gender diversity in a person with autism, as it pertains to care planning.
