This presentation addresses several important issues at the forefront of special education law. It will also examine, in depth, new key cases and offer essential practical pointers to ensure compliance.

Learner Objectives:

This session will help participants:

  1. Discuss recent case law decisions and their potential impacts on school psychologists, including cases related to assessment, observations, and English language learners.
  2. Describe how the role of school psychologists has changed in the post-Endrew F. world, especially as it pertains to child find, eligibility, and free, appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment.
  3. Explain key issues in addressing severe behaviors, both in the IEP and disciplinary processes.
