Learner Objectives:

This session will help participants:

1. Analyze areas where school staff may be impacted by thinking and biases that inappropriately refer students for a behavioral threat assessment
2. Describe how students with disabilities and those from minoritized backgrounds may be impacted by disproportional referrals to behavioral threat assessment and management teams.
3. Develop strategies to appropriately refer students for interventions and support from the behavioral threat assessment and management team.
