The presenter will use sample cases and current events as a basis to explore trending legal topics in school psychology, including school refusal, functional behavior assessment, and the future of the IDEA 

Learner Objectives:

This session will help participants:

  1. Weigh alternatives for proceeding with a functional behavior assessment when parental consent is not a certainty.
  2. Recognize and address legal issues regarding school refusal in evaluation planning.
  3. Analyze the impact of recent executive branch actions on IDEA legislation.
