This session explores evolving interpretations of the federal education role, examines special education policy, and guides participants in crafting bipartisan advocacy messages and strategic action plans for advocacy efforts.

Learner Objectives:

This session will help participants:

  1. Identify major differences in current interpretations of the federal role in education and longstanding federal special education policy.
  2. Construct advocacy messages that reinvigorate bipartisan support for the federal role in education, including special education.
  3. Design a strategic action plan for individuals or state organizations that will provide a framework for “unprecedented” advocacy activities.
