This session examines state and federal legal tensions, ethical gaps, and practical strategies for navigating legal challenges while supporting diverse student populations.

Learner Objectives:

This session will help participants:

  1. Identify current and emerging tensions between state and federal laws regarding students with diverse backgrounds, competencies, and identities;
  2. Describe existing and emerging gaps in ethical practice and laws at the state and local levels;
  3. Apply strategies to navigate ethical and legal pitfalls in supporting ALL students.
