Participants will learn about second language acquisition and how instructional programs impact language development. The presenter will provide strategies to determine appropriate interventions based on language needs and conduct culturally responsive assessments.

  1. Identify the stages of second language acquisition and how they impact the student’s accessibility and engagement in the learning environment.
  2. Identify and develop academic interventions based on the student’s language needs.
  3. Apply culturally responsive assessment practices that align with the student’s oral language skills.
