Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. better engage in treatment of anxiety in youth, across ages 7–17, gender, and ethnic diversity;
  2. recognize and be able to implement strategies and empirically supported intervention skills for youth suffering from anxiety; and
  3. recognize what we know and what we do not yet know about effective cognitive–behavioral treatment of anxiety disorders in youth.

This workshop will address components of successful intervention (e.g., self-talk, problem solving, exposure tasks). Case examples, illustrations of intervention strategies, and role-play activities will constitute the bulk of the workshop.
