Correlations Between RSI-Teacher Form Scores and SSIS-SEL Student Form Scores

This session is from the NASP 2021 Annual Convention

  • PMD: 1
  • Skill Level: Intermediate
  • Session 6: Recent Developments in Assessment and Research

Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. explain the importance of including measures of impairment in the assessment process.
  2. describe the constructs assessed by the RSI-Teacher Form.
  3. evaluate the validity of RSI scores in assessing relevant social and behavioral constructs in the schools.

This presentation will provide evidence of validity of scores on the Teacher Form of the Rating Scale of Impairment (RSI), which was designed to determine the impact of psychological and physical challenges on everyday functioning. Evidence is based on correlations with SSIS Social–Emotional Learning Edition (SSIS-SEL) Student Form ratings among a sample of middle school teachers and students. Participants will gain knowledge about the utility of the RSI in assessing relevant social–behavioral constructs.
