  2. discuss the assumptions and ethical implications of how schools develop mental health MTSS.
  3. analyze mental health MTSS using critical race theory and other social justice perspectives.

Description

Presenters will provide a critical analysis of how to begin MTSS development and implementation for systems that address student mental and behavioral health. In our critical analysis, we will address the ethical obligations that are unique to providing support for student mental and behavioral health, and discuss school-based mental health service provision through a critical race theory (CRT) lens. This mental health–social justice connection has been termed mental health justice.
