Description
The prevalence of mental health concerns of youth is troubling, with approximately one in six students meeting the criteria for a mental health disorder (Whitney & Peterson, 2019). The lack of access to services is even more critical. School psychologists are uniquely positioned in schools to provide leadership for a continuum of school-based mental health services. This paper will provide an overview of multitiered system of support (MTSS) and the practice of school psychologists.
