  3. increase knowledge and insights in supporting teachers to improve classroom reading.

Description

Students who use self-regulatory and learning strategies (SRL) in reading outperform those who do not. This poster presentation will examine the relation between elementary school children’s use SRL and reading achievement. It will also discuss best practices in scaffolding SRL skills to improve children’s reading. Participants will have an opportunity to assess and reflect upon the effectiveness of different instructional practices, which will be used as resources in supporting teachers to improve classroom reading.
